Ukraine. Cancellation of Import Licensing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (Draft)

[March 25th, 2014] On 27 February 2014 the Draft Law “On Amendments of some Laws of Ukraine (concerning the Import of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients)” (the “Draft Law”) was released on the official site of the State Service on Medicines of Ukraine.

This Draft Law proposes cancellation of import licensing of active pharmaceutical ingredients through the amendment of the Laws of Ukraine “On Medicines” and “On Amendments to certain Laws of Ukraine concerning Licensing of Medicines and Definition of Term of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient”. Please note that the introduction of active pharmaceutical ingredients import licensing is envisaged to start from 1 January 2015.

Implementation of this Draft Law is meant to insure further harmonization of the national regulatory system in the sphere of medicines turnover with international and European legislation.
