Ukraine. Staff Changes in the Ministry of Healthcare of Ukraine

[March 25th, 2014] On 27 February 2014 Oleg Musiy was appointed to the position of the Head of the MHU. During a meeting with representatives of national medicines manufacturers the Minister pointed out the following priorities in the activities of the MHU:

• Support of national manufacturers through the establishment of better development and taxation conditions; 
• Implementation of clear medical protocols for the production of medicines in Ukraine with the purpose, substitution of imported medicines; 
• Fairness and transparency of the public procurement system; 
• Prohibition of corruption. 

As of the date of this Bulletin, Oleksiy Solovyev remains in his position as the Head of the State Service on Medicines of Ukraine. Also, at the moment the State Service on Medicines of Ukraine is under a planned inspection of the Prosecutor’s General Office of Ukraine. Among other issues the rules on import impediments related to several European medicines in favor of other market players, and the rules related to the protection of certain medicines in the Ukrainian market are under review.
